Coffee was their water when they were out on the road. Back then, Cowboy Coffee was brewed slowly over the open fire, until the coarse coffee grounds became light and easy drinking with a good buzz. There was none of the fuss or heavy cream you’d find today.

Secondly, when their work was done, they switched to ‘firewater’ — the strong, sweet whiskey that we Americans came to know and love.

Most importantly, as they enjoyed both coffee and whiskey by the fire, this was their time to share stories and bond with fellow Cowboys, strengthening friendships while on the road and creating a sense of community.
